Women's Sewing Center

Equip

Esther, beaming with joy in this photo, is one of 17 women who graduated from our first sewing training program in February 2024. One of the goals behind the Women's Sewing Center is to give these single and widowed women skills they can pursue personally or professionally after graduation.

Empower

Graduating from the sewing program has empowered these women with the knowledge that they can learn and do hard things.  Many have returned to earn a fair wage for their new skills.  Angaza Design is now fulfilling local orders for items such as school uniforms, and international orders for the products you can purchase here.

Gather

Although earning a wage to support their families is certainly important, the women also prioritize gathering in the newly refurbished building to simply spend time together. Intergenerational groups of women find refuge in the beautifully landscaped grounds or inside when the rainy season comes.  As a special perk, the ladies connect over a hot meal provided by the ministry.

Study

With the support from our Kenyan staff, the sewing center is a place where God's Word is taught, shared, explored, and cherished. The redemptive theme of Scripture is the narrative for all we do.

Emmanne Ministries

Proceeds from our products directly fund the sewing center’s operations as well as support other programs of Emmanne Ministries, the non-profit organization from which Angaza Design was created. One such project is purchasing native-language, solar-powered audio Bibles. These audio Bibles are given to women in the community and their Maasai sisters a day’s drive southwest from the sewing center.
